Hakka Floral Fabric

Hakka floral fabric, a kind of traditional cloth in Taiwan , is a bright red cloth with big patterns of peony flowers on it. The bright red colour and the peony flowers mean happiness and wealth. In the past, many people in Taiwan used it to make curtains, pillows, quilts, scarves and so on. Hakka floral fabric was very common in Taiwan . About the origin of Hakka floral fabric, some say Hakka people in the past were so poor that they would make good use of     the leftover cloth and sew each piece together. That became the colorful cloth which we call Hakka floral fabric today!!

Pearl Milk Tea + Taiwanese Table Manners

I think "Pearl Milk Tea"(珍珠奶茶) can best represent Taiwanese culture. I like milk tea very much, I drank milk tea every day in this year's summer vacation. And the tapioca pearl is very special for foreigners. It's very chewy. So pearl plus milk tea is a perfect combination to represent Taiwanese culture.   There are so many bothering Taiwanese table manners when you're eating with the elders. It drives me nuts! But I figure out some great solutions: 1. Don't do anything until someone tells you to. 2. Always wear a big smile. 3. Stay quiet. I hope these manners will disappear over the years in the future!
